According to an account published by Task & Purpose, Cabo and fellow soldiers were among the first to respond, manning defensive positions during one of the most dangerous moments in recent U.S. military history. Though Cabo survived the initial blast, the physical and psychological toll has been significant. He sustained injuries that required immediate medical evacuation and ongoing treatment.
